Job Description of the Position of Solar Technician

Southsea Investments (Pvt) Ltd is looking for a skilled and motivated Solar Technician to join their dynamic team. As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for conducting feasibility assessments, designing and developing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, overseeing installations, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design solar PV systems based on client specifications, site conditions, and energy requirements.
  2. Perform detailed system sizing, energy production modeling, and financial analysis.
  3. Conduct site assessments to evaluate solar potential and feasibility.
  4. Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  5. Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for permitting and construction.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and local codes.
  7. Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
  8. Conduct performance analysis and optimization of solar systems.
  9. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to solar energy systems.
  10. Safeguard the company’s reputation by maintaining a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
  3. Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other PV design tools (HelioScope).
  4. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to solar PV.
  5. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Excellent project management skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description of the Position of Finance Administrator

Southsea Investments (Pvt) Ltd is looking for a highly motivated Finance Administrator to support their finance and operations teams in managing day-to-day financial activities. As a key member of their team, the Finance Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing ongoing support to teams and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate payments required for the organization in liaison with the Operations Manager and Head Office Accountant, adhering to set Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  2. Monitor creditors and issue requisitions for day-to-day payments, seeking approval from the Operations Manager.
  3. Analyze inventory history to assist in forecasting stock requirements, presenting findings to the Operations Manager for final approval.
  4. Monitor import orders and deliveries, providing weekly updates to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Capture and input all stock take variances into the accounting software, ensuring accurate records.
  6. Assist in reconciling all bank and petty cash accounts on a daily basis.
  7. Assist in conducting monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
  8. Process purchase requisitions, reallocations, and confirm budget balances.
  9. Input data into subsidiary ledgers, ensuring proper authorization in line with business SOPs.
  10. Ensure that all general and subsidiary ledger entries have supporting documents.
  11. Capture expense invoices into accounting software, ensuring correct allocation, and escalate any observed non-compliance issues to the Accountant.
  12. Ensure timely completion of monthly financial processing within pre-circulated reporting deadlines.
  13. Manage and coordinate the acquisition of import licenses for all the business trading lines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Education: First Degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business Management.
  2. Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in business administration.
  3. Proven track record of a practical approach to project management.
  4. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Accounting Packages.
