Job Position

The organization is recruiting to fill the position below:

  1. Systems Engineer I – Online Application

Job Purpose

  1. To learn, grow and develop skills and competencies, while gathering experience in their respective clusters / business environments and pro-actively contribute to the effective and efficient functioning of the division through projects and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  1.  Are cost  aware through reducing non value adding work and waste.
  2. Delivery on targets; due dates and standards as per the agreement with management Aspire to deliver on tasks by becomingfamiliarised with what the delivery of world-class service to internal and external clients looks like and to aspire to deliver it.
  3. Ensure that quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
  4. Achieve business strategy (e.g. Social responsibility; Green Strategy) by participating and supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  5. Influence the enhancement of business processes and methodologies by researching and recommending improvement initiatives and effective ways to operate and add value to Nedbank and supporting the implementation thereof.
  6. Ensure achievement of deliverables by liaising with relevant internal stakeholders who can assist in achieving deliverables.
  7. Ensure understanding and meeting of stakeholder needs through liaising with senior staff and mentors
  8. Ensure smooth work flow by building constructive internal relationships
  9. Deliver on agreed task by managing colleagues and clients expectations.
  10. Execute assigned tasks within the agreed time lines and deliver work of high quality; within internal and external guidelines, regulation and governance requirements.
  11. Ensure delivery of assigned tasks by maintaining a high standards of professionalism in all aspects of presentation and delivery.
  12. Contribute to the business objectives by providing the necessary support that the team requires
  13. Manage work effective by provide feedback and updates to team leader/supervisor on assigned task and duties.
  14. Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
  15. Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression opportunities for self with input from management.
  16. Support personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience gained and certifications obtained within specified time frames.
  17. Create and manage own career through guidance and support of management; department and colleagues.
  18. Achieve team goals by ensuring own contribution and participation.
  19. Maintain knowledge management and improve team success by sharing knowledge with team and ensuring that information is provided correctly to stakeholders.
  20. Deploy, configure, test and troubleshoot Elastic clusters and environments
  21. Maintain and upgrade Elastic clusters and environments
  22. Perform daily performance monitoring for Elasticsearch clusters and environments
  23. Create and analyze performance metrics
     

Essential Qualifications – NQF Level

  1. Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

  1. CompTIA A+ , Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Minimum Experience Level

  1. 3-5 years’ experience in:
  2. Elastic search and/or KAFKA product knowledge and experience
  3. Linux 
  4. Cloud (MS Azure / AWS)
  5. Enterprise search domain and search architecture
  6. DevOps/DevSecOps and CI/CD implementation
  7. Developing visualizations/dashboards and conducting analyses in Kibana
  8. JIRA & Confluence

Technical / Professional Knowledge

  1. Administrative procedures and systems
  2. Data analysis
  3. Microsoft Office
  4. Relevant regulatory knowledge
  5. Business writing skills
