Job Requirements For the Position of Head, Facilities and Asset Management Division (AfCDC)

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:

  1. Master’s degree in Materials Management, Logistics Management, Organizational Development, Engineering, Facilities or Operations Management or any other related field, with 12 (twelve) years of progressive experience, including seven (7) years in management positions. 
  2. Experience in facilities and inventory management or logistics management, preferably in public or international organizations, including five (5) years at the supervisory level.
  3. Experience in facilities management, engineering, or operations management is required. 
  4. Certification in Strategic Organizational Development and Operations, Project Management, Building Automation, and Engineering would be an advantage. 
  5. Membership in a relevant professional organization is an added advantage

Required Skills:

  1. Strong working knowledge of information technology and its implications for business commerce and managing and controlling business operations. 
  2. Depth knowledge in generally accepted finance and accounting policies, principles and controls 
  3. Depth knowledge of accounting theory, auditing standards, investigation guidelines, procedures and related techniques. 
  4. Knowledge of auditing & investigation information systems and systems designs. 
  5. Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese and Spanish); fluency in another AU language is an added advantage.

Job Requirements For the Position of Director of Citizens and Diaspora Organizations

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:

  1. A Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Public Administration Diplomacy, Strategic Studies or Social Sciences, with15 years relevant experience of which 8 years should be at managerial level, and 5 years in a supervisory role 
  2. Experience in the areas of civil society organizations, diplomacy, democracy, good governance, human rights preferably in a regional or international working environment.

  2. Interpersonal skills and ability to works with people from various backgrounds and create an environment where diversity is respected 
  3. Communication and presentation skills 
  4. Planning, budgeting and organization skills 
  5. Computing skills 
  6. Proficiency in one of the AU working languages, fluency in another AU language is an added advantage 

Job Requirements For the Position of Principal Technical Officer, Infectious Diseases and Neglected Tropical Diseases (AfCDC)

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:

  1. Master’s Degree in Public Health / Epidemiology, or a related discipline with ten (10) years of relevant and progressively responsible work experience in public health, with a focus on NPHIs of which Six (6) should be at expert level and (3) years of experience at supervisory role OR Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health / Epidemiology, or a related discipline and twelve (12) years of relevant and progressively responsible work experience in public health, with a focus on NPHIs of which Six (6) should be at expert level and (3) years of experience at supervisory role.
  2. PhD in Public Health or a related field is an added advantage.
  3. Experience in developing and implementing public health programs.
  4. Experience in outbreak response.
  5. Experience in health systems strengthening.
  6. Experience in public health research.
  7. Experience in writing and publishing scientific articles.
  8. Experience in working with international organizations.

Required Skills:

  1. Experience in setting up and managing ID & NTDs.
  2. Proven ability to provide technical assistance and training.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Fluency in English and French or any other AU official working languages.

Job Requirements For the Position of Director Ethics, Integrity & Standards

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:

  1. A Master’s Degree in Law, Public Policy, Public Administration with 15 years relevant work experience out of which 8 years should be at a managerial level and 5 years need to be in a supervisory role. 

Required Skills:

  1. Leadership skills 
  2. Ability to achieve documented objectives and meet timelines 
  3. Interpersonal and negotiation skills: Ability to work effectively with people from various backgrounds and create an environment where diversity is respected 
  4. Communication, presentation and report writing skills 
  5. Computer literacy 
  6. Ability to work in teams 
  7. Proficiency in one of the AU official working languages (French, English, Portuguese, Arabic) and  fluency in another AU language(s) is an added advantage

Job Requirements For the Position of Principal Programme Policy and Strategy Officer (AfCDC)

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:

  1. Master’s Degree in public health, International Relations, Public Policy or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience in public health program development, implementation, and policy analysis of which 7 and 5 should be at managerial and supervisory roles respectively. 
  3. Demonstrated expertise in conducting needs assessments, policy research, and program evaluation.
  4. Professional Certification in Programme Management is an added advantage.
  5. Leading the development and implementation of a national immunization program in Africa CDC for African countries.
  6. Conducting policy analysis on a specific public health issue across multiple African countries.
  7. Managing a regional program on disease surveillance and outbreak response.
  8. Collaborating with development partners to secure funding for a public health program.
  9. Representing an Africa CDC in international forums on public health policy.

Required Skills:

  1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
